Obituary of Louise McKay
Louise McKay of Calgary passed away on June 17, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Louise was born on March 5, 1927 in Loretteville, QC and raised in Quebec City. She was married on July 1, 1952 in Hannover, Germany to A. Donald McKay of Indian Head, SK. Louise traveled widely and lived in many locations across Canada and abroad. In addition to participating in numerous charities she held responsible positions with the American and Diplomatic Clubs of Geneva and the Women’s International Club of Ottawa. In harmony with nature she loved gardening, mountain hiking, Alpine skiing and canoeing. She belonged to several bridge groups and was a gracious entertainer. Her greatest love was the company of her family, especially her three grandchildren. She was loved by, and enriched the lives of all who knew her. Louise will be deeply missed. Louise is survived by her loving husband and children Heather (Tom Henderson) of Rockport, ON, Gordon (Cheryl) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Reid, Lauren and Scott all of Calgary; sister, Pauline; brothers, Roger and Henri of Quebec and Guy of Halifax. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard. A Celebration of Louise’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
