Obituary of John Frederick Perroux

John (Jack) Perroux, beloved husband of Shirley of Calgary, completed his life’s journey on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 following a year-long struggle with cancer. Jack was born to Grace and Fred Perroux on December 28, 1925 in Queensland, Australia. Upon completing school, Jack joined the R.A.A.F. and began his wireless air gunner training at Calgary’s S.A.I.T. campus. When the war ended, Jack worked his way back to Canada as a radio operator aboard an oil tanker. In Calgary, he found employment with Calgary Iron Works, thus beginning a life time career in the steel business, subsequently working for Dominion Bridge and as a partner in the ownership of Bonnybrook Steel Ltd. Jack married Shirley (nee Coombs) in 1950, sharing almost fifty-eight years of happiness. He took pride in his domestic duties as Chief Cook while Shirley held the position of "bottle washer". They enjoyed many trips together to far corners of the globe but "home" was always best. Jack was a loving husband to Shirley; a caring and supportive father to Joanne and Glen; a cherished grandfather to Tyler and Randi Jo Milnthorp and proud great-grandfather to Kimberly and Nolan Milnthorp. His sister Audrey Faulkner and her family of Tucson, AZ were of great importance in his life, as were his many treasured friends. It is appropriate, therefore, that we honour Jack’s memory with a private family and friends service at a later date. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Jack Perroux, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.
