Obituary of William Powell

William (Bill) A. A. Powell beloved husband of Doreen (nee McKee) of Calgary passed away at the Colonel Belcher Carewest on June 17, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Bill was born on October 25, 1927 in Prince Albert to Wm. C. and Gladys Powell. Bill retired from Lafarge Canada in Calgary in 1989. Bill was known for his sense of humour, great memory and for the help he gave others through his work in twelve step recovery programs. Bill is survived by his loving wife Doreen; sons, Daniel (Janet) of Ottawa, ON, Rev. Ross (Dorothy) of Sparwood, Rev. Dr. Robert (Karen) of Milgrove, ON, Thomas (Diana) of Calgary; grandchildren, Doug, Brian, David, Jordon, Luke, Sarah, Elise, Rebekah, Garth, Spencer, Megan, Adam, Angela, "chosen daughter" Linda Carate; daughters-in-law, Bev and Frances; sister, Betty Eshpeter of Red Deer and her family; brother, W. Ross of Burlington, ON and his family; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. He was predeceased by his parents; sister Nonie and husband Bob Morrow; nephew Ken Morrow all of California. Bill was also predeceased by brother-in-law Jim Eshpeter and sister-in-law Betty Powell.
