Obituary of Dorothy Jeannette Rubenok
Dorothy Jeannette Rubenok of Calgary passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Dorothy was born in Calgary on February 3, 1928 and grew up in the Black Diamond area. She married Roy in 1952, shortly after receiving her degree in Nursing from St. Pauls Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Dorothy and Roy raised their three sons while living in Calgary, Anaheim and Houston, after which the couple retired to Texas for several years. Following Roy’s death in 1992, Dorothy moved back to Calgary where she lived the remaining years of her life in the close company of her surviving family. She is survived by sons, Ron (Lorraine) and Kent (Paulette); as well as her sister Bea (Ray) Wickens. She also has six grandchildren, Michaelle, Allison, Casey, Robert, Krysten, and Leanne; and a great-granddaughter Lilyan. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Roy, son David and sister Bernadine.
