Obituary of William J. Halpen

William Halpen of Gull Lake, AB, passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital, where he had been recovering from a heart attack on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Bill enjoyed life to the fullest, taking great pride in his home at Gull Lake where he had lived since retiring in the mid eighties from a career in the automotive industry. Bill will be deeply missed by his daughter Carole Lawrence; grandson Scott (Sharole) Lawrence; great-granddaughter Zoe; great-grandson Jeremy; his brothers Terry (Mary) and Mike (Carol); as well as his sisters, Teresa Fairbairn and Kathleen Higgins. Bill will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews, and by all of his friends. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife Marguerite. A Memorial Service will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
