Obituary of Luigi Carlesimo
Luigi Carlesimo husband of Susan Carlesimo of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 9, 2008 at the age of 55 years.
Luigi was born in Sezze, Latina Italy and immigrated to Canada with his family in October 1964. He attended school in Calgary and graduated from St. Francis High School. Luigi attended S.A.I.T. where he received his journeyman automotive certificate. He later began his own business in Westward Ho which he operated for sixteen years. Luigi began working with Canadian Tire in 1993 where he was employed until his passing. Luigi’s passion was flying and received his pilots license thirty years ago.
Besides his loving wife Susan, Luigi is also survived by his family Christopher Carlesimo and Desiree of Penticton; Steve and Karla Carlesimo and Stephanie Ng, all of Calgary; three grandsons Jacob, Corben and Carter. He is also survived by his mother Maria Carlesimo of Calgary; sister and brother-in-law Giulia and Joe Nicoletti of Calgary and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and Italy. He was predeceased by his father Sante Carlesimo.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W.) on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
