Obituary of Harold Griffin

George Harold Griffin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 89 years. Harold was born in Montréal Quebec, and was the son of Albert and Dollie Griffin. He worked for thirty-eight years in Sherbrooke and Montréal as a locomotive engineer with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Harold served as a machinist with the RCAF during World War II. After his retirement in 1980, Harold and Audrey lived twenty years in Kitchener, ON before moving to Calgary to be closer to family. Harold was very outgoing with a great sense of humour and a zest for life. He was a skilled hobbyist and had many interests including photography, music and the Blue Jays. In his later years, he embraced the computer age and emailed many of his photographs to friends and family. Harold was well loved and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife Audrey (Hodgman), son and daughter-in-law Jim and Kathy, daughter Nancy Taylor and four grandchildren, Sarah and Allison Griffin, and Jonathan and Jennifer Taylor. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 10:30 a.m.. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
