Obituary of Marilyn O’Neill

It is with deep sadness, the family of Marilyn O’Neill announce her passing on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the age of 76 years. As the youngest of nine children, Marilyn was born and raised on the Haig family farm in Campbellford, ON. As a natural and gifted caregiver, Marilyn proudly went to train as a Nurse at the Peterborough Civic Hospital in Ontario. Marilyn’s nursing career eventually brought her to Calgary, where she worked at the emergency wards at the General Hospital, Foothills Medical Centre, and the Rockyview General Hospital. It was at the emergency at the General Hospital, that Marilyn met her future husband, then Traffic Constable Jack O’Neill. Marilyn and Jack were married on May 7, 1960 and enjoyed forty-eight years of marriage. Besides her beloved husband Jack, Marilyn is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Lindsay Marshall and Susanne and Vern Lee. Marilyn was also the proud and loving grandmother of Tyler, Jacqueline and Kade. A Private Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held with family and friends on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
