Obituary of Pauline Heater-Bischke

Pauline Heater-Bischke of Calgary passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the age of 97 years, after a brief illness. Pauline was born in Kassel, near Odessa, Ukraine, the eldest daughter of Fredrich and Katrina Koch. The family immigrated to Canada in 1914 and homesteaded near Hilda, AB. Upon the death of Katrina, Pauline raised her ten siblings. After marriage, she and her first husband William farmed in the Schuler area until 1937 when they moved to the Okotoks area, ultimately buying a farm at DeWinton where she resided to the present. Pauline is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Sheila, Reuben and Sylvia, Alan and Patricia; three stepsons, Ronald, Richard and Benjamin Bischke; and three stepdaughters, Viola, Jean and Irene (nee Bischke). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. Pauline was predeceased by her first husband William in 1972; her second husband John in 1994; and her son Elmer in 1994. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
