Obituary of Chandnidei Curtis

Chan Curtis, beloved wife of Steve Curtis of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the age of 56 years. Chan was born on March 27, 1952 in Guyana, South America. Besides her husband Steve, she is survived by their daughter Michaelle Rubenok, son Christopher Curtis, and granddaughter Lilyan. She is also survived by her father and mother Sewdial and Rhoni Bhagwandass; sisters Ann (Don) Carveth and Paulette (Kent) Rubenok; brothers, Robbie (Cathy), Buntin (Martha), Roy, Dread (Margaret), and Sham (Shannon); mother-in-law Clara Curtis; brothers-in-law, William (Charmaine) Curtis and Barry (Pat) Curtis; and numerous extended family in Guyana, the U.S.A. and Toronto. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald and Danny Bhagwandass; and father-in-law Edwin Curtis. Chan was most recently employed as an accountant at Husky Engery and had many friends throughout the oil and gas industry. A Celebration of Chan’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 Telephone: (403) 521-3433.
