Obituary of Angela Parente
With deep sadness the family of Angela Parente of Calgary, announces her passing on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the age of 75 years.
Angela was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and nonna. Angela was born in Sepino, Italy into a large and loving family. She married Domenico Parente on December 27, 1956 and together they immigrated to Canada, settling in Calgary in 1961. Angela worked for many years as a caretaker with the Calgary Catholic School District, where she was loved by all who knew her. Her home was always open to her many relatives and friends and there was always plenty to eat, for she was a wonderful baker and chef. Angela earned the love and respect of those around her by being an example of honesty, integrity and devotion. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Angela will be sadly missed by her husband of 51 years Domenico; her son and daughter-in-law Mario and Laurie, and her pride and joy, her grandchildren Jacob, Isabella, Joseph and Grace. She is also survived by her sisters Rosa Tiberio and Maria (Paolo) Franco of Calgary and Concetta Ferrante of Sepino, Italy; sisters-in-law Anna Morrone of Calgary and Carmela Morrone of Medicine Hat. She leaves to mourn her passing, many special nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren, as well as many friends. Angela was predeceased by her parents Antonio and Francesca Morrone; her sisters Giuseppina Arcari and Christina Chiarizio; brothers Giovanni and Pasquale and brothers-in-law Cristino Arcari, Libero Chiarizio, Guiseppe Tiberio and Mariangelo Ferrante.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
