Obituary of Anice Ruth Harding

With deep sadness, the family of Anice Ruth Harding announces her passing on Friday, May 9, 2008 after a brief illness. The eldest daughter of James and Ruth Ingram of Westbank, B.C., Anice was born in Kelowna. She and her family moved from there to Calgary in 1959. Anice was an active citizen supporting a variety of community services and was very involved with the IODE, a national women’s organization. A great passion was cheering on the Flames and the Stampeders. In addition, she was busy with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and volunteered in many other community activities. Since her retirement she indulged her sense of adventure by travelling the world. An avid artist, she expressed herself through a variety of mediums. Anice was predeceased by her husband, Douglas, and brother, Wilfred Ingram. She is survived by her sister Eva Feist of Penticton, BC, brother Gerald of Kelowna, BC, her children Brenton, Leslie, Craig and Lise, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jason and his wife, Tosha; Derek, Nathanael, Kaitlin, Devyn, Marlies, Dermott, Noah, and Garreth. Anice is also survived by her daughter-in-law Susan and sons-in-law Michael Hubler and Charles Decottignies. Our family wishes to express its deepest appreciation for the care, compassion, and assistance provided by the very able and professional folks of the Rockyview General Hospital, intercare Chinook Care Centre Hospice; and the community of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. A private family interment will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, followed by a celebration of Anice’s life at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive SW) at 1:00 p.m. As much as Anice enjoyed flowers, she asks that friends and family make a donation in lieu of flowers directly to the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta, 302, 609 – 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 2A1, www.kidscancercare.ab.ca .
