Obituary of Peg Strange

Peg Strange of Calgary passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Peg was born in Calgary and attended Horse Creek School, St. Hilda’s (Strathcona) and later the University of Alberta majoring in home economics and later obtaining her teaching certificate. She began her teaching career at the Banff Mtn and St. Hilda’s schools. Peg was married July 20, 1946 to Harry Strange. They resided in Calgary where Peg taught at Crescent Heights School. She loved gardening, sewing, baking, camping, traveling and was an avid sports fan. Peg was a long time member of the I.O.D.E., serving in many positions. She was an active member of her church and enjoyed helping with the women’s organizations. Peg was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Her passion in life was to care for her family and always set a good example which she accomplished throughout her years. Peg will be sadly missed by her children, Ron (Joyce) of Bashaw, AB, Mary (Greg) Kinsey of Calgary and Valerie (Mark) Hancock of Calgary; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jo Hutchinson of Cochrane. Peg was predeceased by her husband Harry on February 25, 2007. Funeral Services will be held at Wild Rose United Church (1317-1 Street N.W.) on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Parking relaxation will be in effect for relatives and friends.
