Obituary of Boyd Walton Hamilton
Boyd Walton Hamilton, beloved husband of O. Vivian of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the age of 83 years.
Boyd was born in St. James, Manitoba. He served in the armed forces prior to graduating with a Bachelor of Science (honours) from the University of Manitoba. Boyd began his career as a geologist with Imperial Oil in 1951 and retired in 1983 after thirty-two years of service. He also served in various volunteer capacities, most notably as president of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Boyd is remembered by his three sons and two daughters, Colleen (Robert) Bennett of Edmonton, Thom (Janice) Hamilton of Burlington, ON, Bruce (Carla) Hamilton of Calgary, Brett (Cheryl) Hamilton of Seattle, WA, and Kathleen (Karl) Borzel of Winfield, AB. Boyd is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Boyd was predeceased by his wife O. Vivian, his parents Agnes and Thomas Hamilton, and his sister Betty Forshaw.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
