Obituary of Philip Arthur LeBlanc
Philip LeBlanc of Calgary passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the age of 76 years.
Phil was born on September 18, 1931 in Weymouth, NS to the late Frederick Joseph LeBlanc and Mary Lorette Saulnier. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces for twenty-eight years as a Military cook, four tours in Germany, as well as Korea, Yukon, Vancouver Island and C.F.B. Calgary. After retiring from the Military he was employed by the Calgary Board of Education. He was an active member with the Royal Canadian Legion, the Federal Superannuates National Association, as well as the Anglican Church of Canada. Phil was an avid curler with the Garrison Curling Club and he enjoyed golfing.
Phil is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and John Drew of Weymouth, NS, Catherine and Harley Deveau of Weaver Settlement, NS, Cecile and Wade Marr of New Tusket, NS, and Theresa and Jimmy Gaudet of Weymouth, NS; his brother and sister-in-law “Joe” Emile and Vicky LeBlanc of Brandon, MB; as well as his extended family, Glenna and Larry Robinson, Bradley, Donna, and “Papa” to Shanley and Brett Zanidean. Phil was predeceased by his wife Antionette Michaelis in October 1996, his brothers, Peter and Desire, and his sister Mary-Rose Robicheau.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
