Obituary of Evelyn Brooke

Brooke – Evelyn Irene Brooke (nee Shaw) died suddenly on April 25, 2008. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Bill, granddaughter Alicia and brother Allan. She will be missed by her children Catherine (Tom) Cadman, Carolyn Brooke and David (Susan) Brooke. Evelyn was a wonderful and loving Nana to Emily, Elisabeth, Natalie Cadman, William and Austin Brooke. Evelyn had a large, loving family and circle of friends who will dearly miss her. Left to mourn are Morley (Joyce) Shaw, Willa (George) Hall, Diana Shaw, Marie (Ed) Westgaard, Audrey (Ken) Meek, Allan (Lori) Brooke many nieces and nephews as well as the Saturday Lunch Bunch. Everyone who entered Evelyn’s home, family or not, was made to feel welcome and left with a full stomach, a full heart and fond memories. Evelyn was as generous with her time as she was with her hospitality dedicating decades of volunteer service to the Girl Guides of Canada, and more recently Inn From the Cold, Calgary Police Service and the Calgary Health Region. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on May 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to Girl Guides of Canada (2188 Brownsea Drive SW, Calgary, AB T2N 3G9, ph: 283-8348).
