Obituary of Matilda Lenius

Matilda Anna Elizabeth (Tillie) Lenius (nee Coppicus), beloved wife of the late Matthew Lenius of Calgary and formerly of Milden, SK, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Tillie was born on December 6, 1923 in Windthorst, SK. She and Matthew moved to Milden after the birth of their second child. They lived in Milden until 1995 when she moved to Alberta where they have resided ever since, with the past five years of Tillie’s life being at the Father Lacombe Care Centre. Matilda is survived by her children, Frances Traff, Annette Sinden, Don Lenius, Ron and Heather Lenius, Con Lenius, Dennis and Gloria Lenius, and Eileen and Bill Anderson; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Theresa Kearns, Helen Plein, Martha Hassler, Fred (Eileen) Coppicus, Gerry (Sylvia) Coppicus; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Matthew; parents; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; a daughter-in-law; and a granddaughter. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius Catholic Church (Windthorst, SK) on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Pius Catholic Cemetery, Windthorst, SK.
