Obituary of Mark Harvey McLean

It is with deep sadness we announce that Mark McLean passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Foothills Hospital. Mark had 22 years in this world to Love, laugh and enjoy the simple pleasures of family, friends and caregivers. Mark will be remembered by his parents, Judy and Jeff McLean; his sisters and brother-in-law Kristin and Nathan Raugust, Lindsay McLean; and brother Matt, all of Calgary. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandparents Norm and Nora Harvey of Winnipeg, MB., Vera McLean of Beausejour, MB.; and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins who have been supportive and caring towards Mark and our family throughout these twenty-two years. Mark was predeceased by his Grandfather Bill McLean. Mark touched the lives of everyone he met with his easy smile and belly laugh. He loved people, T.V. (especially “Barney”), and music. The family is so grateful to all who played a role in Mark’s life during many Hospital admissions, early childhood education, playschools, school, Graduated Supports and especially the caring staff of the URSA group home who cared for and loved Mark the past few years. Mark gave so much back to all of us during his short lifetime, he will not be forgotten. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at St. Thomas United Church (100 Hawkwood Boulevard N.W.) on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency whose staff at the 27th Avenue group home were a second family for Mark (808 Manning Rd. T2H 2W1) in gratitude for the many, many happy memories that our family will cherish having been able to spend quality time with Mark in this Mountain Respite.
