Obituary of Marjorie Raskin

Marjorie passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Mayfair Care Centre in her 88th year. Marjorie was born in London, England and began her adult life as a commercial artist. Marjorie and Elly met, fell in love and married while he was stationed in England with the Calgary Tanks. She came to Canada as a war bride, first settling on the farm in Rumsey, AB. They later moved to Calgary and then on to Vancouver where she and Elly spent twenty-two happy years. They travelled extensively throughout Canada the U.S. and Europe. Marjorie enjoyed many return visits to her beloved England. She was a devoted wife and mother and her family was of utmost importance. Marjorie leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of sixty-six years, Elly; three sons, Keith (Sandra), Dale(Theresa) and Terrance; grandchildren, Denise (Ed), Lance (Jeannette), Neil, Devin; great-grandchildren, Kristen, Sarah, Caitlyn and step-grandchildren, Terri (Kobi), Lori, Kelly (Allan), Bonnie, and Jill. Marjorie’s family will celebrate her life with a private service. Our sincere, heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Mayfair Care Centre for their compassion and gentle care of our mother.
