Obituary of Raymond Bruce Dennis
Bruce Dennis, beloved husband of Joanne Dennis of Calgary, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2008 at the age of 77 years.
Bruce was born on July 9, 1930 in Calgary, where he lived most of his life. He articled with Winspear Hamilton in Edmonton and became a Chartered Accountant. He worked for Canadian Chemical Company Ltd in Edmonton for about ten years, where he met the love of his life and future bride Joanne. Together they celebrated fourty-seven years of marriage on October 1, 2007. Later he became self-employed as an accountant for over 40 years. Bruce was an active member with the Church of the Good Shepherd in Calgary. He was a bronze Life Master in duplicate bridge and enjoyed doing sudoku and crossword puzzles to stay sharp. He was recognized by the Canadian Blood Service for over 200 lifetime blood donations. Bruce loved the outdoors and was a regular cross country skier and hiker.
Besides his loving wife, Bruce is remembered by his sons, Cameron of Red Deer, AB, Robert (Catherine) of Mill Creek, WA, Allan (Cornelia) of Ottawa, ON; daughter Marianne (Gregory) Toogood of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Ewan Dennis of Mill Creek, WA, Jenna Toogood of Edmonton, AB, Leona and Alanna Dennis of Ottawa, ON. He was predeceased by his parents Elsie and Raymond Dennis.
Funeral Services will be held at Church of the Good Shepherd (408 – 38th Street S.W.) on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
