Obituary of Juliette G. Ferguson

It is with heavy hearts that we let you know of the passing of our dear little mother, Juliette, on Friday, April 18, 2008 at Father Lacombe Care Centre at the age of 91 and a half. Juliette was born on a farm in Speers, SK and raised in a very loving and devout Catholic family. She was the last remaining of her nine Lequiea siblings. Juliette’s schooling was completed at the Sisters of Assumption Convent in South Battleford. She graduated from nurse’s training at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver in 1942. That same year, Juliette married Bob, a member of the RCMP, and they raised their six children in various cities, Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Ottawa, Red Deer and Calgary. Juliette went back to nursing when her children were grown and worked at the Beverly Glenmore Centre and then private nursing until her retirement. Juliette had a kind and caring nature and it showed right to the very end. She was grateful to the nursing staff at Father Lacombe and thanked them often for their care. The family is so very grateful for the nurturing and spiritual comfort the Sisters of Providence provided to mom and all of us. Our deepest thanks to our mother’s very special caregiver Julianna, what a blessing you were to her. Juliette is survived by her children, John (Lesley), Mark (Donna), Sue, Julie, Michele and daughter-in-law Peggy; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also had many wonderful and devoted friends. Juliette was predeceased and has now joined her husband Bob; her son Peter; her parents; her six sisters; and her two brothers. Rest in peace Mom and Grandma.
