Obituary of David Reid

After a brief illness, Dave passed away surrounded by his wife of 60 years, Jessie, his daughter, Jessica and granddaughter Lindsay. Dave is also survived by his grandson Aaron, son-in-law Dan and the light of his life, great-granddaughter, Olivia Isabelle. A Scottish soldier to the very end, Dave was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and served with the British 8th Army, liberating Egypt, Sicily and Italy. Immigrating from Great Britain to Calgary, Canada with his wife Jessie in 1981, Dave was a Freemason, an active member of the 285 Legion, Editor of their Skyline Newsletter for twelve years and an active participant in the Annual Burns Supper. David is also survived by his best friend of 14 years, Tommy, who he walked faithfully every lunchtime. Tommy still waits by the front door for him to arrive.
