Obituary of Beulah Leadbeater-Muir

Beulah M. Leadbeater-Muir, of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the age of 92 years. Beulah was born in Brechin, ON to Ethel and Will Turnball on July 12, 1915. She was a schoolteacher for many years, her first school being a one room, twelve grade school in Forest Lawn, ON. Beulah then went on to the city for five years at Leaside Elementary. In 1948, Beulah moved to Calgary, where she taught in several schools and was a vice principal and principal. Beulah then moved to the supervision of kindergarten before her retirement in 1980. She was a very warm and giving person, known to her family and friends as “Auntie Boo”. We will miss you. Beulah is survived by her sisters, Pearl C. Flourndine and Jessie Darling; and her brother Peter Turnball; her step son Brad Muir; and her step daughter Del Borak. Beulah is also survived by nineteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Beulah was predeceased by Lloyd Leadbeater in 1952, who she married in 1945. Beulah married Wilson Muir in 1987, who passed away in 2002. Beulah was predeceased by three brothers, Lloyd, Ernie and Kelly Turnball. A Celebration of Beulah’s Life will be held at Earl Grey Golf & Country Club (6540 – 20 Street S.W.) on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
