Obituary of George Phillip Cheasley

George Phillip Cheasley beloved husband of Mrs. Velma Cheasley passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, April 14, 2008. George was born and raised on a farm near Alexander, MB. He had many challenges and had great success with all his ventures as a farmer, as well as owner and operator of Texaco Service Stations. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion #284. George also received many awards for safe city and highway driving. George worked for Calgary Transit for thirty-five years where drove a Bus and was a Heavy Equipment Operator (tractor-trailer). George just wanted people to be decent and honest and may God bless. George had a brilliant mind for business and was very successful. He had many activities that he enjoyed upon retirement, crib, darts, lawn bowling and displaying his show car. With a great sense of humour George had a great social life with many friends and family. Besides his loving wife Velma, George is also survived by his two daughters and one son-in-law, Sharon and Clay Hodges; Heather Cheasley all of Calgary; and two grandchildren, Shannon Hodges and Christopher Hodges. He is also survived by two sisters, Winelda Curtis of Brandon, MB; Jean (Miles) Stephens of Calgary, AB; and one sister-in-law Gladys Cheasley of Alexander, MB and families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
