Many Heads

Obituary of Many Heads

It is with great sadness we say farewell to our brother, uncle and dad, Jasper Many Heads Sr., who passed away peacefully at his home on April 14, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Jasper was also a grandpa, great-grandpa, cousin, brother-in-law, father-in-law and a special friend to many. Jasper had an adventurous life and a unique personality; he had so much pride and he never wanted to be a burden to anyone. He was a traveling man always on the road heading to go somewhere and even though he never asked for a ride someone always gave him a ride. He was very comical and political in his own way; those that knew him would say he was quite the storyteller. Jasper had educated himself by reading various forms of literature, and in his earlier years, he was a bareback rider and rode in the Calgary Stampede. His past time included reading, attending pow-wows, playing bingo, going to the Casino, and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Jasper leaves behind his children Lana (Wes) Many Heads, Ron (Terry) Many Heads, Dyan (Ian) Breaker, Arlene (Pete) Many Heads, Jackie (Clifton) Many Heads, Jennifer Many Heads; daughter-in-law, Anne Many Heads; also survived by Cecilia Many Heads; his brothers, Levi (Gail) Many Heads, Matthew (Carol) Many Heads; sisters, Elizabeth (Norman) Running Rabbit, Muriel (Dan) Kirby; sister-in-law, Cecile Many Guns; brother-in-laws, Philip Many Bears, Albert Many Bears, Arthur Yellow Fly; his uncle Mark Wolf Leg Sr.; his cousins, Tom Crane Bear and Tim Breaker, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his biological parents, Joe Ghost Skin and Ruth Studhorse, Grandpa William and Nancy Many Heads, his children, Jasper Many Heads Jr., Rosemarie Many Heads, his brothers, Douglas (Annie) Many Heads, Roy Many Heads, Richard Many Heads, Alfred Many Heads; sisters, Hazel-Jane Three Suns, Ina Rose Many Heads, Mabel Many Heads; cousin Lily Many Bears (Stud Horse); and other family members. The family would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend to Jasper’s needs during his life-time including Siksika Elders Services, Siksika Housing, Siksika Elder Lodge. Jasper was very appreciative even though he may have not mentioned it. We would also like to send a special thank you to Gordon Royal of Siksika Home Care, Siksika Emergency Rescue Team and the Gleichen RCMP for attending to our dad Jasper. Wake Services will be held today, Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Jasper’s Residence in the North Camp area of Siksika at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbour (Siksika Nation, AB) at 11:00 a.m., Graveside Service to follow at the Paul Little Walker Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
