Obituary of Alasdair Euan Gourlay

Alasdair of Calgary passed away on Monday, April 7, 2008 at the age of 79 years. Alasdair was born in Badulla, Ceylon and came to Canada in 1933. He had a busy life as a rancher, landman for Shell, orchardist, sailor and fisherman. He founded the “Safe Boating Society” to install mooring buoys on Lake Okanagan. He received life membership to the Kelowna Yacht Club for his contribution to pleasure boating. Alasdair is survived by his first wife Mary and their sons Kim, Robin, and Simon (Jit); granddaughters Emmy and Sabrina; brother Jock (Shelagh) and wife, Philippa, as well as his extended family Susan, Shaun (Dale) and Kaleb Finnis.
