Obituary of John Pawson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Keith Pawson on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer. Keith was a loving and caring man and always a “Gentleman” to those around him. Keith will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-one years, Mary, his children Jacqueline (Hartmut), Jeffrey and Andrew, his brother Les, granddaughters Nicole, Kristen, Jessica and Aymee and great granddaughter Abigail. Keith was born in England and worked as a skilled carpenter in his home town Leeds. Seeking a different life for his family, immigrated to Canada in April 1969 and moved to Calgary in 1970. He started working for the Calgary Transit in 1971 retiring after twenty-seven years as Chief Inspector in 1998. His family was his life. He had a passion for soccer, playing the game from a very young age, to coaching his sons to cheering on his granddaughters. Soccer has lost its greatest fan. He will be sadly missed by family and friends near and abroad. At Keith’s request there will be no formal service. If family and friends so desire, Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation c/o Tom Baker Cancer Center 1331 29th Street N.W.
