Obituary of Laurence Scott Irvine

Larry Irvine, beloved husband of Lois Irvine of DeWinton, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the age of 92 years. Larry was born in Munson, Alberta at the Drumheller Hospital to Peter Scott and Amelia Irvine, the second eldest child of a family of eight. Larry lived life to the fullest and loved people, making friends wherever he went. His experiences and his stories were amazing and his career moved from the Air Force (1940-1946), salesman, real estate broker, and auctioneer until his retirement in 1980. He was a Director and Founder of Calgary Real Estate Board Cooperative and a past President of the Alberta Auctioneers Association. He will be greatly missed by his beloved children, Terry (Doreen), Penny (Doug) Harris, Patricia (Joe) Sather; four grandchildren, Scott (Nichole), Brandon (Marcia), Chad, and Julia; and by four great-grandchildren, Abbigail, Grace, Brady and Jessica. Larry is also survived by his brother-in-law Paul Linstead and wife Deanna, several sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Berneice and by his granddaughter, Kimberley. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
