Obituary of Ruth Viola Carnegie
Ruth Viola Carnegie, beloved wife of Garnet Carnegie of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the age of 82 years.
Ruth was born on August 12, 1925 in Toronto, ON and she served during WWII. Ruth was involved with the League of Mercy and was an active member of the Salvation Army. Ruth will be remembered for her dedication and devotion to people. She loved to serve them – no matter what their age, race and creed. Ruth was completely devoted to her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Most of all, Ruth was cherished by her family. She was a loving mother to Lin (Dave), Gary (Susie), Cathy (Andre), and Kerry (Janice). She was also adored by her grandchildren, Ray, Tim, Becky (Markus), Cara (Jay), Andrea, Stacy, James, Nathan, and Josh. She was predeceased by her first husband Ray. Her grandchildren eagerly awaited the times spent with Ruth during Christmas and summer holidays where laughter would be heard throughout the house. Ruth especially took joy in visiting with her five great-grandchildren, Ty, Ethan, Courtney, Isaac, and Joylin. Ruth’s loving nature was abundantly known to all as she engaged everyone with the warmth and acceptance unique to her.
