Obituary of Dora Nellie Riley

Dora Riley of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the age of 86 years. Dora came to Alberta in her teens from the farms of Saskatchewan during the Depression. She moved with the family to Delburne, AB, where the family started over on a homesteaded farm. She left the farm and began working on her own at seventeen years old and shortly after moved to Calgary, where she became a long term resident. Dora was a passionate and caring person. She loved all of her extended family and treated them as if they were close immediate family. Dora is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Ken, and Doug and Colleen, all of Calgary; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Dora is also survived by her sister Verda Fuller; and her three nieces, Jean, Sharon and Marilyn. Dora was predeceased by her husband Robert; her three brothers and three sisters. A Celebration of Dora’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
