Condolences
Bette was my mother’s first cousin, and a favorite cousin. The first photo I have of her is when I was just a baby and she came down to San Francisco to visit my mother and her sisters, Alva and Baita. In that photo and in the times I visited her, once when I was a young boy and went to the Calgary Stampede and we parked our caravan in Chuck and Bette’s drive way, I will always see her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. She and Chuck were very kind, generous people. When my son moved to Calgary in 2000, I looked up Bette and we had a lovely dinner together. The last time I saw her was after she had moved to McKenzie Town Care Center. She still had her lovely smile and kind heart–our sincere condolences to her sons, Stephen and Michael, and their families. I hope we can get in touch. –Bruce and Jennifer
p.s. I stumbled on this site, looking for information on Bette’s mother, Elizabeth Underwood.
