Obituary of Colette Cecile Marie Labossiere

Colette Cecile Marie Labossiere, of Calgary, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the age of 73 years. Colette was born July 21, 1934 in Radville, Saskatchewan, the oldest daughter born to Henri and Suzanne Rabin. She was the first child to be baptised in St. Colette’s Catholic Church near Radville. Colette was raised in the Ceylon district, moved to Calgary with her sisters where she met her future husband Alexis Labossiere. They were married in July 1955 at the Sacred Heart Church. The family resided in various locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan, moving back to Calgary in 1969, where she resided until her death. Colette was a loving mother of eight children, Karen (Ken) Smith, and Dennis Labossiere of Regina, and Armand Labossiere, Reina Labossiere (Claudio Ghersinich), Norm Labossiere, Henry Labossiere, Ray Labossiere, Maurice Labossiere, all of Calgary. Colette will be missed by her grandchildren Colette and Shawna Smith, and Christopher and Nicole Ghersinich. She is also survived by her three sisters, Bernadette (Jerry) Ryle of Longmont, CO, Genevieve (Carl) Tschritter, Cecile Rabin-Tschritter (Rod Rodriguez) both of Calgary. Colette was predeceased by her husband Alexis in 1973 and brother Ray in 2002. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Viewing will be between 10:30 and 11:30am for those interested.
