Obituary of Three Suns

Sherry went home to Glory peacefully, on Monday March 24, 2008. Sherry lived most of her life in Calgary. She attended school at Crowfoot, Standard, Glenbrook, St. Mary’s and Bow Valley. She went on to work for Calgary Co-op, Calgary Exhibition & Stampede in concessions, and the City of Calgary – work activity. In her spare time Sherry volunteered at the U of C annual graduation Pow-Wows, Siksika Fair and Traditional Pow-Wows. As well Sherry was a present member of the Siksika Fair Committee 2008. She sang with her traditional father’s drum group, J. Bernard Bear Shirt. Sherry had a great sense of humour was always smiling and did not know how to get mad. She had the ability to make friends from all walks of life and lived for her nieces, Lyndsey, Janel, Kai and her nephews whom were made to feel special because of her generosity. Her hobbies included collecting “Harley Davidson” memorabilia. Sherry not only survived many bouts of her illness and even survived a shooting incident at Crow Fair, USA in 1993. Sherry is survived by her siblings, Joanne Three Suns, Casey (Marion), Wesley (Sarah), Donna (Lloyd), Windsor (Melanie), Fay Ann; uncles, Pius Three Suns, Mark Wolfleg Sr., Levi (Gail) Manyheads, Matt (Carol) Manyheads, Jasper Manyheads Sr.; aunties, Liz (Norman) Running Rabbit, Muriel (Dan) Kirby, Emily (Clarence) Red Crow, Eve Yellow Old Woman, Myrtle GoodEagle, Cecilia Many Heads, Cecille Many Guns; adopted parents Mervin & June Wolfleg who raised her since early in her life; adopted brother Sheldon (Theresa) Scalplock, her extended family, Three Suns, Big Snakes, Red Crows, Wrights, Yellow Old Woman, Own Chief, Poor Eagles, Many Bears, Many Guns, ScalpLocks, Sleigh, Good Eagles, Stimson, Heavy Shield, Many Heads, Wolflegs, Calf Child and Crane. As well as her extended family in the USA, Scabby Robes, Reeves, Little Plume and Red Eagles. She was predeceased by her loving parents Mike and Hazel Three Suns; Sister Nancy Jean; brother Woodrow; grandmas Mary Jane Three Suns, Margaret Bad Boy; Aunties, Julia Wright, Margaret Three Suns; uncles George Good Eagle, Maxim Three Suns, Simon Wolfleg Sr., Richard Many Heads; cousins, Henry Three Suns, Eddy Three Suns, Jasper Many Heads Jr., Rose Marie Many Heads and Richard “Dickie” Stimson and numerous relatives. The family would like to deeply apologize if they have forgotten anyone. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Wesley and Sarah Three Suns (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be celebrated at Siksika Community Centre, Siksika Nation, AB on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Paul Little Walker Cemetery, Siksika Nation, AB.
