Obituary of Harry Raymond Heatley

Harry Raymond Heatley of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Ray was born in Regina, SK and was raised and attended school there. He joined the R.C.A.F. and served during WWII. Ray married Ruth Burrows on June 7, 1941 and moved to Calgary in 1947. He was employed at Fairview Chemical prior to operating West Point Esso. Ray later operated K and K Motors in Trochu and later returned to Calgary in 1960. He then began Dime Delivery which later became Bel Air Moving and Storage from where he retired. Ray is remembered by his family Pat Benedict of Calgary; Donna and Hugh Kinghorn of Calgary; Murray and Karin Heatley of Calgary; Glenn and Laurie Heatley of Calgary; Bob and Wendy Heatley of Calgary and Mike Heatley of Calgary. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren Kerri (John) Hospes; Kelly (Tammy) Kinghorn; Dany Heatley; Mark Heatley; Shawn (Nicole) Heatley; Tyler Heatley; Kim Heatley; Cory Heatley; Stephanie Heatley; Jordan Heatley and Reagan Heatley, also six great-grandchildren, Lucas and Katie Hospes; Logan and Brieanne Kinghorn; also Dylan and Ethan Heatley. Ray was predeceased by his wife Ruth on July 4, 2001; his two sisters, Gertrude Logan and Edith Achtzener; his brother Fred Heatley. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow in Field of Honour at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
