Obituary of Hilda Brodie

Hilda Brodie, beloved wife of Ron Brodie of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Hilda was born in Germany in 1926. She married Ron in Scotland on August 23, 1947 and in 1952 they immigrated to Calgary where they have resided for over fifty years. Hilda began her career at Pacific Petroleum and later worked with The City of Calgary planning department as a draftsperson. After twenty years of service she retired in 1988. She travelled extensively and especially enjoyed cruise vacations. Most of all she loved visiting with family. Besides her loving husband, Ronald, she is also survived by her daughter Dr. Beverly Brodie and son-in-law Dr. Gary McLean; granddaughters Bridget and Shelby McLean all of Stratford, Prince Edward Island; brothers, Willy (Christa) and Herbert (Hilda) Kutzborski of Germany; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family in Germany, Scotland and the United States. Hilda was predeceased by her parents August and Julianne Kutzborski. A Celebration of Hilda’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
