Obituary of Leon Bolt
Henry Bolt of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the age of 84 years.
Henry was born in his parents’ pub, “The Coach and Horses”, in London, England. Henry loved reminiscing about his youth spent with the Partridge family in Lapford, Devon, England. Henry enlisted with the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1942 and served with the Allied Forces until the end of WWII. In 1951, while visiting his sister, Henry met the love of his life, “Tilly” Battanchon, from France. Henry and Tilly married on September 13, 1952. Henry graduated from Camborne School of Mines as an Engineer in 1955 and immigrated to Canada in 1961. He spent much of his career working overseas in Holland, Trinidad, Iran, Indonesia, and Morocco.
Henry will be remembered by his numerous relatives in England. Henry is survived by his son Richard, former daughter-in-law Marcia Maluta and Richard’s current partner Liz Waker; his son Pascal and daughter-in-law Tracy de Vries; his son Michael and daughter-in-law Edwina; his daughter Marie; his son John and daughter-in-law Marilyn; and his grandchildren Adam, Emma, Tanelle, Mitchell, Kala, Jennifer, and step-grandson Josh. Henry was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Tilly, and his sisters, Irene and Nancy of England. Henry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, strong work ethic, voracious reading, and his wonderful sense of humour.
