Obituary of Iris Edith Singleton
Iris Edith Singleton beloved sister, aunt and friend of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the age of 78 years.
Iris was born in London, England on July 24, 1929. She was a proud veteran having served in the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps in Malaysia. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She decided to immigrate to Canada in 1965, first settling in St. Albert then Vancouver and finally moving closer to her family in Calgary. Iris had a kind heart and shared stories of her youth and time in the war with warmth and laughter. She enjoyed her books and needlework, waiting every July for the latest release of Harry Potter. She enjoyed her garden and time with family and friends.
Iris is survived by her brother John (Kitty) Short of England; Lee (Bev) Mason; Mark (Brenda) Mason; Fiona (Warren) Bedell; as well as her great-nieces Kyra and Jenna. Iris was predeceased by her sister Valerie Mason.
