Obituary
Obituary of Howard William Overland
At the age of 50, Howard, affectionately known as “Duck”, passed away on March 8, 2008, with his loving wife and daughter by his side, in Calgary. With courage, class, and dignity, Howard fought a valiant battle against cancer that was diagnosed in Nov. 2007. His career in sales and marketing took him from his hometown of Vancouver, to Edmonton, Halifax, Moncton, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Aurora and, though short-lived, back to his immediate family in Calgary. Duck’s amazing people skills and witty sense of humor enveloped the hearts of many extended family members, friends, co-workers, and strangers alike. Howard is survived by his bride of 22 years, Nada, his cherished daughter Jessica Jones, his son-in-law Sean and his grandchildren Peyton and Sawyer, his pride and joy. He also leaves his brother Bob (Marilyn) and sister Anne Prentice (Bryan) of Vancouver and their families, as well as a huge network of extended family and close friends too numerous to mention. He is pre-deceased by his father Sidney and mother Florence. Family and friends will gather on Friday, March 21, 2008 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at The Lodge at Spurway Gardens, 235 Keith Rd. West Vancouver, BC, to remember and celebrate this amazing man. There will also be a Memorial Life Celebration to take place on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008, at Lady Eaton Hall in King City, ON from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Forward condolences through to www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
