Obituary of Harry Vankeimpema

Harry Vankeimpema, beloved husband of Joanne of Calgary, passed away at the Sarcee Hospice on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the age of 76 years. Besides his loving wife Joanne, Harry is survived by his daughter Sherryl (Andy); his son Duane (Jeanette); his grandchildren, Matthew (Shelby), Amanda (Lee), Tyler, Julina, Kylan, Andrea, and Brian; his great-grandchild Alex. Harry is also survived by his sisters, Shirley (Fred), Emmy (Andy), Ena (Martin deceased), Martha (Bill), and Joyce (Kor); and his brothers, Henk (Jan) and Wiebe (Margriet). Harry was born in Leeuwarden, Friesland and moved to Ede, Netherlands at a young age. In the spring of 1951, Harry immigrated to Canada (Picture Butte, AB). He came to Calgary in the fall of 1955, where he continued to work as a carpenter and contractor until his retirement in 1996. His greatest passions were church, the Calgary Protestant Male Choir, the cabin, creativity and volunteering. A Memorial Service will be held at Emmanuel Christian Reformed Church (3020 – 51 Street S.W.) on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:00pm. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
