Obituary of John David Slimmon

John passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the age of 71 years. John was a heavy equipment operator for many years and worked for Chief Construction until two weeks before his passing. He is lovingly remembered by his family and friends. John will be sadly missed by his brother and sister-in-law Alan and Carole Slimmon of Calgary; his sister and brother-in-law Jean and Ben Mudd of Red Deer, AB; his nieces, Sharon (Kevin) Ham, Jana (Gordon) Hands, and Dianne (Dominique) Gomes; and his nephew Michael Sommerville. He had a special place in his heart for his great-nieces and nephews – Brooke, Jana and Robyn Ham; Graydon, Tanner and Taiya Hands; Larissa, Madelaine, Lauren, and Kate Gomes; and Natalie Sommerville. John was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Gertrude Slimmon. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
