Obituary of Susan Marjorie Hawkins

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sue Hawkins. A beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She passed away peacefully in the hands of her family on the morning of Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, AB at the age of 58 years. Sue was born in England, the daughter of Harry and Marjorie Shaw of Guildford. She immigrated to Canada in 1970. Sue is survived by her mother Marjorie and her devoted husband of 38 years, Roger. Her loss is deeply felt by her daughter Shanda Tansowny, Steve and granddaughters Mackenzie, Sydney and Madison; as well as her son Christopher and Grandson Bryden. Sue was a mountain of strength to her family. Her smile, kind words, tenderness and challenging wit will be remembered by all who met her. Her love for animals, especially her horses, will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Sue’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W. Calgary, AB) on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. A service and scattering of Sue’s ashes will take place in Penticton, BC at a later date.
