Obituary of Freda May Brunell

Freda May Brunell (nee Yellow Old Woman) born April 1, 1967 was suddenly called home to be with her Creator, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 9, 2008. Freda was born and raised on the Siksika Nation and resided in Cranbrook, B.C. with her husband and children. Freda spent her teenage years in Standoff and Lethbridge. She attended Bible School in Swift Current, Sask in 1984. Freda spent many years serving her Lord whom she loved. Freda is survived by her husband Allan Brunell of Cranbrook, her children Eva and Brad Yellow Old Woman of Siksika, Jamie and Ashley Brunell of Cranbrook, her mother Sylvia Yellow Old Woman of Lethbridge, her brothers Treffrey Deerfoot of Lethbridge, Wilbur (Frankie) Yellow Old Woman of Standoff, Rodney (Alana) Yellow Old Woman of Lethbridge, Shawn (Tammy) Yellow Old Woman of Siksika, Farron Many Shots of Lethbridge, and also her adopted brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She is also survived by many relatives in the Yellow Old Woman, Delaney, Plaited Hair, Wells, Many Guns, Winnipeg, Turning Robe and Mayfield families. Freda was predeceased by her father, Fred Yellow Old Woman, her maternal grandparents, Mae Delaney and Jim Plaited Hair, and her paternal grandparents, Edward and Betsy Yellow Old Woman. Wake Services will be held at the home of Shawn and Tammy’s Yellow Old Woman (Siksika Nation, AB) on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Siksika Community Centre (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services to follow at a later date in Cranbrook, BC.
