Obituary of Hans Otto Nissen
Hans Otto Nissen of Calgary died peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in the loving presence of his family at the age of 86 years.
Hans will be lovingly remembered and missed by his children, Nick (Gerry) Nissen of Oliver, BC, Kris (Ray) Matthews of Calgary, AB, Lars (Brenda) Nissen of Saskatoon, SK, Lucy Nissen of Calgary, AB, Peter (Cathy) Nissen of Edmonton, AB, Mary Anne (Dale) Winters of Calgary, AB and Cathy Young of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren, Lisa, Alison, Soren, Anna, Stephen, Erica, Melissa, Jonathan, Helen, Peter and Andrew; and his great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Donovan, and Mitchell. He is also survived by his brother, Mogens Nissen of Denmark, and by his friends and extended family. Hans was predeceased by his beloved wife of fifty-one years, Inger.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14 Street S.W.) on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14 Street S.W.) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in the Holy Family Section at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the people who cared for Hans in the past year and especially to Dr. Thomas Gillis, Dr. Bryan Cummings, Dallas Jezzard, and the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Unit 62 at the Foothills Medical Centre, Units 61 and 82 at the Rockyview General Hospital, and the Southwood Care Centre.
