Obituary of Daniel Ernest Ahern

Daniel (Danny) Ernest Ahern, of Calgary passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at the age of 94 years. Daniel was born in Cap D’ Espoir, QC (Gaspe) on January 8, 1914. He moved to Beaver Lodge, AB, in 1935 where he farmed with his Uncle Ernie. He moved to Calgary in 1938, where he worked a variety of jobs until the mid 1950’s, when he operated his Plumbing and Gasfitting Business, “Danny’s Plumbing”. Dan will be sadly missed by his son and daughter-in-law Dan and Doreen Ahern; three grandchildren, Landra and Darren Brunner, Kent Ahern and Karyn Ahern. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Mathieu, Apryl, Joel, Colton and Kira, all of Calgary. A sister-in-law Eunice Ahern of Gaspe, QC and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Dan was predeceased by his wife Madeline Ahern in 2001, his parents, Daniel and Marguerite, two brothers, Joe and Lewis, two sisters, Rita and Bertha and a nephew Benoit.
