Obituary of Lucille Cameron
Lucille Cameron (nee Motard) of Kelowna, formerly of Calgary, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 after a brief and painless journey with lung cancer.
Lucille was born in Ottawa, ON. She started her long term career with the Bank of Montreal on her 17th birthday in 1943 at the Ottawa Main Branch. Lucille retired from “the bank” in 1986 after many successive management positions. She totally enjoyed the banking industry and fondly remembered all of the lifelong friends she made. Lucille will be lovingly remembered for her intelligent and open mind, her unwavering faith in God and St. Theresa, her warmth, graciousness, loyalty, integrity and hard work ethic.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Leo R. Motard and Flora M. Motard (Louden); her brother Émile J. Motard; her dedicated husband of forty-one years, Donald A. Cameron and her second husband of two years, Melvin P. Jackson.
Lucille is survived by her loving husband Ian F. Greenwood; her children and grandchildren, Bruce E. Cameron (Dixie), Matt and Mike of Calgary; David N. Cameron (Lorraine), Andrew and Haley of Kelowna, BC; Donna M. Bushe and Chelsey of Calgary; Barbara J. Cameron (Graham Scattergood), Dustin and Zoe of Calgary. She is also survived by her brothers Rodolphe L. Motard (Coreen) of St. Louis, MO, Aurèle E. Motard (Ruth) of Boucherville, QC and her sisters Jeannine (Laurent) Chouinard of Gatineau, QC, Elaine Edmison of Mississauga, ON and Louise Whitteker of Ottawa, ON as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Sister MaryAnn of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Kelowna and Kelowna’s palliative care support network. A more caring and compassionate group of people cannot be found. Your support was invaluable.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14th Street S.W., Calgary) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made in Lucille’s name directly to one of her favourite charities, Doctors Without Borders, 720 Spadina Avenue, Suite 402, Toronto, ON. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church, (1077 Fuller Ave, Kelowna, BC) on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.
