Obituary of Mabel Mary Hamlin

Mabel Mary Hamlin of Calgary passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, March 3, 2008, at the age of 80 years. Mabel was born on May 7, 1927 in Port Arthur, ON. She served her country with the Women’s Army Corp. during WWII, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years. Mabel was an avid Bingo player, Mabel enjoyed going to the casino and to Stage West performances. A true fan of the Flames and Stampeders, Mabel always supported her teams. Most of all, she adored her family and always made sure to celebrate family occasions. Mabel is survived by her children and their families: Larry (Karen) Larocque, Darlene (Albert) Windrem, Wayne (Bonnie) Larocque, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Mary “Mickey” Malcolm and Georgina Hamlin, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mabel was predeceased by her husband Don on September 27, 2006, and brother William “Bill” Malcolm. A memorial Service for Mabel will be held on the Upper Level of the Marlborough Community Association Hall (636 Marlborough Way NE, Calgary) on Friday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
