Obituary of Ross Yolland
Ross Edgar (Rosco) Yolland of Calgary, passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008, after a brief struggle with cancer, at the age of 66 years.
Ross was born in 1941 in Rossland, BC. After high school, he entered the military and spent eight years working as a mechanic. Ross spent a few years in the insurance industry and a short time as a rig hand in Weyburn, SK before joining the Royal Bank of Canada for seventeen years. Ross was a lifetime member of the Heritage Lions Club and Lions International and received numerous awards during his twenty-five years of service. He enjoyed helping and creating programs for the disadvantaged and especially enjoyed programs for children and the handicapped. Ross enjoyed camping, curling, golfing, entertaining and he had a special passion for cooking. Rosco’s Catering gave him many happy years combining entertaining and preparing culinary delights.
Ross will be sorely missed and is survived by his daughter Louise (Greg); his son Sheldon (Carol) of Calgary; his grandchildren, Jordan and Jared of Okotoks, AB; his brother Robert (Joan) of Chilliwack, BC; his sister Margaret (John) of Vernon, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ross was predeceased by his parents, Thompson and Marion; and his brothers, George and Doug.
A Celebration of Ross Yolland’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 10 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
