Obituary of Alsie May Chung
Alsie May Chung of Calgary passed away after a short illness while on vacation in Hong Kong on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the age of 89 years.
Alsie was born in Jamaica, West Indies but also lived in China and Hong Kong. She relocated to Calgary in January of 2000 and later became a naturalized Canadian Citizen in April, 2005. Alise was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and remained remarkably healthy and active all her life. She enjoyed sharing the product of her culinary skills with family and friends and also loved gardening and sewing.
Alsie is remembered by two sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis and Marie of New Territories, Hong Kong and George and Kathie of Chapelton, Jamaica; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Adrian of Calgary and Judith and Koon Sun of Rotterdam, Netherlands; nine grandchildren, Donovan, Gene, Christine, Patrick, Karen, Nikkolas, Steven, Richard and Laura and one great-grandchild, Alexander.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (400 Edmonton Trail N.E.) on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
