Obituary of Judith Ann Valckx

Judy Valckx, beloved wife of Wies Valckx of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the age of 62 years after fighting her battle with cancer. Judy was born in Didsbury, Alberta on July 19, 1945. She enjoyed her time with family and friends, and was a volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada for 17 years. She also enjoyed being involved with city politics and worked at City Hall in the Aldermanic Office of Ray Clark for 15 years. Judy enjoyed her hobbies of genealogy, gardening, and volunteering with the Marlborough Community Association. Besides her loving husband Wies, she is also survived by her children Jane and Kim Poirier, and Karen Valckx; grandchildren Chantelle and Marissa; and extended children, Laura (Dave, Landon, Casey, and Hailey) Schneider, and Dale (Cheryl, Shaelyn) Case. She is also survived by her sister Sandra Valckx, and brothers Wayne (Terry), Lyle (Sharon), Terry (Joyce), and Randy (Starla) Schellenberg. Judy was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Evelyn Schellenberg. A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held at Centre Street Church Main Campus (3900 – 2nd Street N.E.) on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. A Private Family Graveside Service was held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
