Obituary of David Coates

David Coates of Airdrie passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the age of 81 years. David was the youngest of three children of Walter and Isabella Coates of Calgary. He worked for Calgary Transit, retiring as Superintendent of Major Construction in 1980 after thirty-seven years. In retirement, David traveled and played golf in Canada, Scotland, USA and New Zealand. David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Gary Barber of Drumheller, AB; grandsons, John (Nadine) Edgerton of Stony Plain, AB and Ryan (Chris) Edgerton of Calgary; great-grandson, Alexander Edgerton of Calgary; sisters-in-law, Margaret Skuban of Medicine Hat, AB and Georgie Syryda of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Helen; daughter Annabella; his parents; his brother Walter Coates and sister Isobel Platt.
